Regular maintenance keeps your awning looking good and functioning properly. The most important rule: never roll it up while dirty or wet, as this can cause mildew stains.
Loose particles like leaves or pollen are best removed with a soft brush. For a thorough cleaning, lukewarm water and mild soapy water are sufficient—avoid high-pressure cleaners and abrasive detergents.
It can happen that your awning gets wet during a rain shower.
To prevent water pockets from forming or the articulated arms from being overloaded, the awning may exceptionally be rolled up wet—but only for a short time. As soon as the weather allows, the awning should be fully extended and thoroughly aired or dried. This keeps the fabric stable in shape and free from mildew.
After cleaning, let the fabric dry completely and, if needed, refresh the water-repellent coating: this helps rain bead off and reduces dirt adhesion.
The frame and joints should be cleaned once or twice a year. During this, check the screws and treat moving parts with a suitable silicone spray—electrical components should be handled by professionals.
In case of severe mold growth or if the fabric is damaged, a fabric replacement is recommended. This restores a fresh appearance and ensures the awning remains technically and visually at a high standard.
